The Hessian Barracks

Hessian Barracks The Hessian Barracks located at 101 Clarke Place in Frederick was built in 1777 to house soldiers. This historic structure later housed the first Maryland School for the Deaf. The Barracks are only open for tours a few times during the year by appointment only, so it is best to call ahead for tour dates. The number to call is 301-228-2888.
